What do you want to be when you grow up?
The teacher asked the 5 year olds at school
A Fireman!! A Doctor! A Policeman! A Vet!
Being an astronaut would be cool!
A Hairdresser, A Footballer
They all yelled what they wanted to be
Except stayed quite was a little girl
Blankly faced in the corner, that girl was me
The class quickly got on writing and drawing
What they wanted to be into their book
I just sat staring at the black page in front of me
Because all I could do was look
I put up my hand and looked at the teacher
She came across and she asked me why
"Why have you not done any work yet?"
"I don't know what I want to be" I started to cry
Well what about a Nurse, she asked
I replied no and shook my head
Well just think of something she replied
So I just did as she had said
I wrote I wanted to be a nurse and I drew a picture
Of a nurse which was supposed to be me
Although I didn't want to be one at all
I just did not know what I wanted to be
