The Devil and Marvin
(This first started out as a humorous write and ended becoming a seriois write. I sure hope this my life story.)
The Devil and Marvin
Walking along the beaten path of life
Trying to live the best that he can
He comes across a fork in the road
One's wide and the other is thin
He knows he cannot choose wrong
For if he did he will be sorry
At once a voice calls out to him
“Are you man enough for the safari?”
He recognizes the voice of lies
He's met him many times before
But he's always come out ahead
Because his reliance on the Lord
He says “Get away you big deceiver
You're filled with nothing but lies
I won't let you try to deceive me
I won't look straight into your eyes”
He takes the path less traveled
He knows it's going to be tough
But he will not be unraveled
He's protected by His Savior's love
He's on a one way mission
And nothing's going to get in his way
He needs to spread the good news
And he needs to do it today
The devil is getting very angry
Decides to use everything he has
He tries to destroy his spirit
He becomes a snake in the grass
But Marvin does not become afraid
He calls on the help of his Lord
As Christ comes to his aid
He slays him with His sword
Marvin has reached his destination
He's worked for his whole life
He's faced many temptations
But he's always turned to the light
It never has been so easy
In fact it was the hardest task
But Christ would always be there for him
All he needed to do was ask
And now were at the end of the story
But the beginning of a life without sin
It's about how the devil was defeated
How Christ came and saved Marvin
