 Pages Of A Woman's Soul

I remember our whispered voices
on the telephone
alone in my bed
listening to the sound of you inside my head
sharing your needs,
sharing mine...

I remember every nuance
every moment
each embrace we shared
hearing the anguish in all your confessed regrets
shedding your tears,
shedding mine...

I remember walking by the lake
holding your warm hand
standing close to you
imagining getting lost with you in the woods
daring our fates,
daring mine...

I remember the look of your strong back
beneath my touch all
muscle and sinew
moving my hands across your taut bronzed skin
warming your heart,
warming mine...

I remember the feel of your lips on mine
leaving your door
so late at night
kissing you longingly beneath the dim lamplight
baring your soul,
baring mine...

I remember the sweetness of discovering
the happy surprise
I found in your arms
realizing that who we were was more than enough
leaving your cares,
leaving mine...

I'll remember stolen moments
the way I felt
will never fade
folded lovingly and tucked away in memory, but now
living your life,
living mine...
