THE ONE

I want you to be the one I see each day I open my eyes,
You put a smile on my face and make each day a new surprise,
Your loving and thoughtful ways never cease to amaze me,
You encourage me and allow my spirit to be free.

You manage to make me laugh even when I`m feeling down
There`s no room in your life to ever let me wear a frown,
You are, at times, that proverbial `wind beneath my wings`,
You lift me up so high, not stopping `til my heart sings.

You touch my heart every day with something you do or say,
That`s typically you, it`s your loving nature and giving way,
You give me everything and always let me think I win,
I do, but, I`m sure its kidology, I think with a grin.

You`re always ready with a joke or a quip should my smile ever slip,
You`ll cheer me up by taking me on a far away day trip
The two of us, at times, are like a comedy strip,
And a lot of people even think we`re joined at the hip.

You`re the calming one between us two, my port in a storm,
The reasoning one, if my loyalties are ever torn,
You never let me worry, you say you`ll do it for me,
It`s over in 10 seconds flat, it`s comical to see.

I want to be held in your arms once night time comes around
Quietly listening to your heartbeat being the only sound,
As I close my eyes I want you to be the last one in my sight.
Therefore, you must be the one who always kisses me goodnight.
