Poor, Mourning Spirit
I awoke this morning
with a poor, mourning spirit.
The dawning brought forth distresses
I had tried to disinherit.
Sometimes, things we wish mostly to undo,
Just can't be undone,
And we must struggle through this day,
until the setting sun.
My restless heart is aching
for someone I hold so dear,
The pain and sorrow they are feeling,
Draws me ever, closer, near~~~
Wish I could take the pain for them,
Let the slings and arrows fly my way,
Yet, this is a burden they must endure
All I can do is pray~~~
Heavenly Father, heed my plea,
From this bondage, release their pain,
Wrap them in Your Loving Arms,
Shelter them from this stormy rain~~~~
Set free their poor, mourning spirit, Lord,
Like eagles, let them fly~~~
Allow them comfort while here on earth,
and the Hope of Heaven, by and by.....
