"Echo's From The Country"
~~~
Oh' how I long to be;
in the country just to be in those;
wide open spaces.
~~~
Where you can breath fresh;
mountain air into your lungs.
Where you can see the sun rise;
in the morning and see it set;
in the evening.
~~~
You can see the rolling hills of green,
and valleys that run wide and deep.
Yes' the country;
is where time has stood still.
~~~
John Denver had it right;
when he sang about the country;
and that down home country music.
~~~
Country people'
are the the most down to earth;
good hearted people;
you'll find anywhere.
~~~
They're always their for one another;
helping one another in time of need.
The way God intended people to be.
~~~
Maybe it's helping with someones field.
Maybe it's helping with someones barn.
Or just visiting each others neighbors.
~~~
In the country'
theirs always time for just sitting;
on the front porch sharing a cold;
glass of lemonade.
~~~
Talking about the days end.
Or playing a quick game of checkers.
Swapping fishing and hunting stories.
~~~
Whatever it may be;
country people have a special bond;
with one another.
~~~
People that love nature;
spend a lot of time up in the mountains.
Rather it be hiking or camping.
~~~
They might just love being there.
Getting in touch with nature.
Some people like being in touch;
with God's animals.
~~~
The country offers so many;
different natural wonders.
For us to enjoy.
~~~
Like the rolling slopes;
of wild flowers and the many
different types of trees.
~~~
I especially love the smell;
of the Dogwood trees.
They give off such a wonderful scent.
~~~
There's many creeks and rivers;
winding around each corner;
of the forests and mountains.
~~~
When driving along on the back roads;
you'll see plenty of cattle.
Sheep are seen grazing along the hilly;
green slopes.
~~~
You'll see old weathered barns;
old mills and covered bridges.
The different seasons;
bring out the beauty of the country.
~~~
Each one has it's own purpose;
and displays a grand finale.
I especially love the fall.
~~~
There's such a freshness in the air.
There's nothing like, going down;
an off beaten path and feast your eyes ;
upon the beautiful vibrant colors.
~~~
Or stand upon a mountain top;
and look out as far as you can see;
at the beautiful kaleidoscope
of different colors.
~~~
Yes' God knew what he was doing,
when he put the four seasons;
into plan.
~~~
He wanted to display;
his lovely work of art;
upon the earth for the world to grasp.
~~~
Yes, the country;
is the place to be alright.
It makes a body feel alive.
~~~
And it's not just any certain place;
in the country.
It's everywhere upon God's green earth.
~~~
No' there's no place;
like the country, and the country;
is right where I'd rather be.
~~~
