I can only imagine the hardships you have had
raising us six children, holding our family together.
You tried so hard to be a good wife to our Dad
and you love each of us equally and forever.
I remember hot meals you brought to the table.
You were always there with bandages and caring.
You took the time away from chores whenever able
and you always seemed to nurture the sense of sharing.
Every birthday we have is still celebrated
with cakes you bake and special things you do.
Even now when your chores should be delegated
you push us back and they are performed by you.
As time goes by and I compare myself to you
I could not cry the same tears when we lost my brother.
I remember multitudes of sacrifices you waded through
and my love runs deep and true, for you, my mother.
