Oh boy; look at that
A big chocolate cake looking nice
Although I am so fat
I am tempted to cut a slice
In Eden's garden I believe
The forbidden fruit looked so good
The Devil used it to tempt Adam and Eve
Who thought it looked delicious food
What temptation made them bite?
And sink their teeth through the skin
For in their hearts they knew it was not right
And God was angry at their sin
He banished them from the garden
Their sin throughout mankind would run
And the only way for pardon
Is through the blood of God's own Son
In the wilderness the Devil came
After forty days to tempt our Lord
Who yielded not; is without sin or blame
And commands everyone to live by God's word
As for the chocolate cake
Did I cut a bit?
Just a spoon I did take
And ate away until I finished it!
I had yielded to temptation
But I will not do that again
In my stomach such a sensation
I was doubled up in pain
The Devil will tempt with many things
Give in; he says; there is no harm
But falling for temptation often brings
A life of misery and alarm
Give your heart to Christ today
To escape from sin's condemnation
And to Him always pray
That you will not be led into temptation
