Spooks

Grizzly grouchy ghouls,
Their slippery, smooth,
Slithering shadows
Haunt those crumbling castles,
Or that huge hidden house,
Where shiny skeletons scare.

Eerie evil eyes live
Behind the creaking,
cobwebbed door.
A lonely loft lurks above,
Deep dungeons dwell below,
In deadly darkness.

A spiral staircase stands out of the shadows,
Did you see a ghostly grin,
Or feel those freaky fingers,
As they scampered up your spine?
Eerie echoes with every step,
You scratch an icy itch.
Soon you shiver,
You're right to run away.

Black bats,
They fly against that mystical,
magical moon.
They circle the poisonous, potent pot,
that bubbles like a boiling both.
Prickly plants poke and pounce,
As if you were their prey.

Never again a nervous night,
You head for heavenly home,
Soon you are sound asleep,
Snuggled safely in your bed.
