You,
glistening, steaming and
flooding even with
the release of time.
Time passes
and the cold
the cold, wet, cold
thaws and then...
refreezes.
I think I will
snuggle up to
my big block of
ice.
I shiver.
My body trembles and
aches
but, at least temporarily,
I belong.
This poem expresses the loneliness of an inappropriate romantic attachment. This poem is from my book, I Wish So Much to Hold You, which is available at www.bbotw.com.
