 My today's thoughts

MY QUEST

MY QUEST

In my quest for fame and fortune
I forgot the important gifts of life

I searched for God - looking for Him
in possessions and pleasures of this world

I accumulated much and He was not there
The higher my pile grew the lower my spirits were

Then one day I saw a butterfly - it was adorned in colors
so splendid that a king would envy

In a field of lilies dressed in brilliant hues it flew
In golden sunshine it danced from bloom to bloom

As the lilies swayed in the breeze
The butterfly rested there with ease

How arrogant I had been to think
God needed my possessions of gold and silver

He has the gold in the sunrise and sunset
The treasures at the end of the rainbows the sparkling dew

the diamonds and oil in the earth
The gold in the sky and the pearls in the sea

All were created by and belongs to Him
I searched for God - looking for Him

He was there all the time - waiting for me
His love and care surrounding me everywhere

He is The Treasure for me to seek
My pile of treasures were like stubble of hay

they would burn up one day
My love and my life to live for Him is what God wants me to give

HOLY BIBLE

1 Corinthians 3: 11 - 13

11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13. Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
