Poetic Verses

Greed

In this place of great disgrace
those came before did deface
a worthwhile dream of employ,
in such role a simple joy

By greed to take but all they may
and yet to lead the rest away
As one by one, like leaves, they fall
Each and every, one and all

Upon the precipice stand they
Crack the whip on those that stay
Meek of voice who fear the fate,
no where to go, so yet they wait

Another day of hell to bear
Usefulness vanish into air
The greed and power, strong and true,
to lash upon the meager few

As days so long and empty fill
With bowed heads to do their will
In need to collect a meager lot,
while strength to drain and brain to rot
