The Mistress of Word Play

If you need to find me just watch the sun
climbing into the dark sky
watch the birds as in the heavens
they do fly.  
There you can find me lost
between this world and the next
feverishly beating out emotions
in paragraphs and text.

If you find me missing and at times
I seem indifferent or distracted
it is only because the thoughts
are being extracted.
There amid the buffeting
torrential outpouring of  my heart
you can find me endlessly
creating my word art.

If at times my presence
seems to be inattentive
I am lost, merely searching
for new incentive.
Writing is and will always be
a major part of me.
I will always be caught
in the grip of eternity.
