I have read of them since I was a child,
And they have enthralled me over and again!
The Princess and the Pauper,
And the Rapunzel with her long mane!
And the Prince who kisses the sleeping beauty,
Who brought her back to a life of love!
And cherished her forever…
United like the turtle dove!
The happy ending that always comes to pass,
Where all dreams of sugar and spice…
…Dissolve away till another day;
With another fairytale just as nice!
And dreams of sugar candy in abundance,
The wonder of a dream come true!
But they only happen in fairytales,
They don't happen for me and for you!
Do they?
And so this fairytale romance began,
One fine and bright sunny day,
Whilst holidaying in a castle true;
Where a love so good came to stay!
As we wandered through that castle,
There was no Rapunzel, no Princess true,
Just a couple of people, who fell in love,
Those people are me, and you!
No magic fairies or elves about,
And there were no streets of gold;
But what there was, was a wonderful tale,
A fairy story that must be told!
I saw him across a room one day,
And liked the look in his eyes;
Such a gentle face, in a delicate way,
And a man with a mind so wise!
And he saw me across that same room;
Both of us to shy to speak at first,
But then the love of an interest in us true;
Brought about a liaison and feelings that burst!
And so the fairytale began right there,
Inside the castle grounds where we stayed;
We were inseparable, oh but we were,
And a unison of love was made!
There was no Prince or Princess in this tale,
Only two people who fell in love at first sight;
And yes, the fairytales really do exist!
Look to us; look to this love that's so right!
And when you read of fairytales,
And tell yourself they aren't really true;
And when you think its fiction;
Remember it can happen to you too!
So the magic of that castle that week,
Sprinkled stardust over us both,
And brought about a wonderful love,
So wonderful we took an oath!
And the oath is to always love each other,
And stay with each other for life;
Forever bound in unison;
As husband, and as wife!
