Love was there in a baby small
Lying on hay in a stable stall
And all the angels shining bright
Sang in chorus that starry night
Fear not you shepherds gazing above
A child is born because of love
This in Jesus personified
Would one day be crucified
Love that night in a mother's eyes
Would mix with tears when her son he dies
As He hangs one day on a wooden cross
Mary; heartbroken; would suffer loss
For love was nailed to the tree
Where Jesus suffered for you and me
And then cried finished in dying breath
As love was swallowed up in death
If love's abode was cold dark grave
Then for sinners no one could save
But Jesus ascended to Heaven above
And there is life in resurrected love
God; loving the world; gave His Son
Salvation in another there is none
And love is calling today
Plant your feet in the narrow way
Love so wonderful lifted me
Love broke the chains and set me free
When Jesus came as the snow white dove
And whispered; on you I set my love
What could I do; knowing Jesus loves me
But to give Him my heart on bended knee
And love Him now as I journey to home above
Carried each step in His great arms of love
