Words of Life, Love and Praise

Simple Pleasures

Life's simplest of pleasures –
All of them free to those
Who take the time to see…
The sparkle of babbling brooks,
Emerald pines reaching for the sky,
The coolness of an autumn breeze
caressing your face as you stand
drinking in the oceans grandeur.
Such absolute splendor just waiting
to be seen on the evening horizon…
a glorious pallet daily displayed
of generously brandished hues.
The innocence in a baby's coo
the sweetness of a kittens purr,
and then, there's you…
The love in your eyes
The perfect fit of our hands intertwined,
such warmth I feel when you smile…
Ah yes, life's simplest of pleasures –
Indeed all gifts from God,
Let me not take a single one
For granted.
