 24 HOURS
Sleep awhile, get up, drink some coffee
Brush teeth, get dressed
Throw on some makeup
Do hair, all the rest

Cash my check
Pay those bills
Stand in a line
One of life's little ills

Call my sister
Make some plans
Clean the kitchen
Give a damn

See Leslie outside
Go look at her cleaned couch
Relax a few minutes
With a treat from a pouch

Start dinner
Bake a cake
Water my flowers
It's 7p.m. for goodness sake

Ride my bike
Out to the freeway
2 drivers wave hi
Then I'm on the downhill speedway

Come home
Watch the fading sun set
Talk to kids
Still have to frost that cake yet

Listen to music
Iron those clothes
Move real fast
Working woman's woes

Take a shower
Wash my hair
Dance a while
Then more grooming care

Ready for work
Throw some salad in a bowl
Grab a book
Out the door I go

Rush at work the first two hours
Then sit and chart
Quiet time from 1 to 4
Then back to nursing art

Rush again from 4 to 6
Meeting others needs
I'm not a superwoman
This is just a day in the life I lead.
