Lifted I am; I can only go higher
Pulled from the depth of the pit and the mire
Rising above the beat of strong eagle's wings
Flight for my soul is what salvation brings
Tied no more to the burden of sin
Chains were broken when Jesus came in
He unloosed the fetters that so tightly bound me
And gave my soul wings that I may fly free
The top of the mountains my spirit will pass them
The borders of sin no longer will hem
There is a sun always shining in blue sky above
And I will pass its brightness because of His love
Nothing here on earth can hold me or tie
The eye of my faith looks up to the sky
The joys of my heart run like an ever-flowing river
And the bond that ties me to God death cannot sever
There's a song in my heart that I cannot help singing
Of peace and love in abundance that Jesus is bringing
When darkness went away in obedience to light
And the radiance of His shining blotted out my night
Oh my freed soul you are bound for the air
A home up in Heaven to dwell with Jesus there
Someday the call when God's time is right
And a host of angels will meet you in flight
