No temptation has overtaken you
that is not common to man.
God is faithful,
and he will not let you
be tempted beyond your strength,
but with the temptation
will also provide the way of escape,
that you may be able to endure it.

Overtaken

My Lord, at times I feel 'overtaken'
It seems that I have been 'forsaken'
The pain of loss is so hard to bare
I can't seem to find solace; anywhere,

I write in meaningless metered rhyme,
Rephrasing words, time after time,
I can't speak the words of a simple prayer
Forlorn, lost, no inspiration comes from anywhere.

How long, Lord, must I carry on?
When will this struggle be over and gone?
What sin must I have yet to atone?
Before You call me, finally, home?

How terribly ungrateful I must seem !!!
You, Lord, have helped me live my dream.
To know the words You gave to me
Have helped to set a sinner free,

More than I deserve, here on earth,
To live a life of such love and worth,
To have steadfast friends, who carry me
With prayers, and love,~~~ beyond eternity.

Forgive me Lord, I have been mistaken,
For I have been, 'Gloriously Overtaken'!!!
These very things that I claim as loss
You carried with you to Calvary's cross.

The escape you planned from this tribulation
Will make my Heavenly Home, my final destination.
Where I will join with Angels as they sing above
Of your Wonderful Joy and Everlasting Love.
