Another country's soil holds fast
the blood of America's youth.
Those from our great nation who
thought they fought and died for truth.
Mothers, fathers, wives, children,
sisters and their brothers
grieve for the senseless loss
of all those countless others.
In the White House our President
sits and reviews the wine list.
When will his conscience tell him
it's time to cease and desist?
What will it take to bring our troops
back home to American soil?
Haven't we all paid the ultimate price
for another nation's turmoil?
Sense and sensibility have been irradiated
for some obscure secret plan.
Our nation's children are left in harm's way
doing the best they can.
While in the Senate and the Congress
they all try to confer and justify
President Bush's lame accusations
his perpetual, misconstrued lie.
Wars are often fought for reasons
that aren't necessarily reasons to fight.
Just because you can make it happen,
doesn't mean you're in the right.
Mr. Bush, would you have been
so quick to jump the gun
if you had to take the same risk
of losing your own son?
When is enough, enough for you?
What is our cost for peace?
I tell you my heart of hearts
says the fighting needs to cease.
Dear Mr. President, please bring our troops home!!!
