WRITTEN OF HIM

Your poets have written of Him
Paul declared on an Athens hill
The great creator God
Whose name is mentioned still

He has inspired the songwriters
Authors give Him note
He has filled the heart and mind
And thoughts of this poet

For when the page is empty
Not written on with ink
The quiet reflective hours go by
As I ponder and I think

I spend some time in prayer
For help I have often cried
My words must tell of Him
And His name be glorified

Sometimes it is a struggle
Just to make a start
To put down in verse
All that's in my heart

But when I think of Jesus
Of all of Him I know
My Saviour friend and King
The words they quickly flow

It is so easy to write of Him
To pen what He has done
And in each poem I want to tell
Of God's dear precious Son

Words of verse, perhaps inspired
But never expressed at casual whim
My poems will point you to God
For they are written of Him
