Poetry For Everyday People
Purple Dress, Brown Flip Flops
Moon eyes cool
me, hippie girls
dance, fly the bus,
stick your bare
feet out the window,
throw your hair in a pony
tail, remember those nights?
smoking in the back of the van,
sacred space, just us, dreaming air
and wishing magic, your feet on
my lap, your eyes shinning
sparkling, your words pedals forming
beauty,
remember talking about everything?
solving every problem, eating popcorn,
sharing wine, looking at each other's
happy freedom, comfortable quiet,
your feet on my lap, the world far
enough to forget.
me, hippie girls
dance, fly the bus,
stick your bare
feet out the window,
throw your hair in a pony
tail, remember those nights?
smoking in the back of the van,
sacred space, just us, dreaming air
and wishing magic, your feet on
my lap, your eyes shinning
sparkling, your words pedals forming
beauty,
remember talking about everything?
solving every problem, eating popcorn,
sharing wine, looking at each other's
happy freedom, comfortable quiet,
your feet on my lap, the world far
enough to forget.
