Heart Of The Matter
Last Day Of Summer
There is nothing I like better,
Than the company of the sea,
It's where I taste my freedom,
Delight in being me,
Observe the gentle rolling tide,
Merge into sky of blue,
A warm and sunny afternoon,
Which are sadly, now too few,
The leaves succumb to autumn,
The trees will soon be bare
But ….
Just days ago, was summer,
Contented, free of care,
My minds eye holds a memory,
To prove that I was there.
