Salty Wet Cold Breath

Can you hear the ocean roar as its angry
waves crash against the rocky shore?
Can you taste the salt in the ocean air,
and feel the chill of winter everywhere?

Can you hear the ghostly voices of all the
sailors lost forever more?
Like I, do you wonder how many souls
are trapped behind Neptune's deep ocean door.

They say, "Up from the ocean we came and in the
end to the ocean we shall return."
My question, are the events in-between coming
and going, really significant or just our turn?

We shall never really know, for we are mere mortals
and these questions are beyond our comprehension
and in the realm of Heaven's portal.

The ocean is a giver of life and the guardian of death,
and man will forever continue to feel its salty, wet cold breath.
