 Portmeirion

The stone boat at the harbour,
won't be sailing anywhere today.
While Hercules forever strains to support the weight,
of the world outside the Town Hall.
The watcher in the Bell Tower,
looks across to The Pantheon.
While Buddha directly below the dome,
looks across to Lady's Lodge.
Number 6 no longer lives in The Round House,
but if you look out the window there,
gilded Burmese dancers are reflected in the pond,
of The Piazza, past The Bristol Colonnade.
St.Peter on his balcony, next to Battery Square.
Neptune, Dolphin, The Angel and Trinity.
Ship's figurehead on a petrol pump,
a lion feasting on a human hand.
The Gloriette, Gothic Pavilion and Mermaid,
Telford's Tower and Unicorn.
So much colour, and so much beauty,
in the Welsh village of Portmeirion.
