Poetry For Everyday People
My Inner Circle Of Poetesses
I want the milky moon
pouring gently, I want
the only peach
that ever grew in an
apple tree, I want clams and oysters,
crisp cool white wine,
I wanna kiss your feet
as you yawn and smile,
wine dancing on our tongues,
as our words time machine distance,
our loneliness relative, Sunday
paper, soup, a new pillow,
a new ottoman, coming up with what
might save us,
I want the world with me
at your feet, fireworks for
you baby, jasmine and lilac,
I wanna raise you where you
belong,
high above it.
pouring gently, I want
the only peach
that ever grew in an
apple tree, I want clams and oysters,
crisp cool white wine,
I wanna kiss your feet
as you yawn and smile,
wine dancing on our tongues,
as our words time machine distance,
our loneliness relative, Sunday
paper, soup, a new pillow,
a new ottoman, coming up with what
might save us,
I want the world with me
at your feet, fireworks for
you baby, jasmine and lilac,
I wanna raise you where you
belong,
high above it.
