''What is God?''...You Ask
"What is God?" dear Friend, you ask,
Answering is such a task
But since you're seeking, I will try,
For by such faith, I live by.
Dare I say, I'm competent,
To describe the Infinite?
Finite minds don't fully see,
But are given to believe.
Evidence is all around,
From the stars, the seas, the ground.
Designed order, we see here,
Can't just happen, I am sure.
As a watch needs a maker,
Or no time could be known there--
A Builder, each house proclaims,
With our world it is the same.
Though unseen by human eyes,
God exists, we realize
Though beyond understanding,
Yet Blind Faith, not demanding.
Meticulous in detail,
Is Creation, without fail.
Mindless accident, it's source(?)
Is beyond belief, of course.
E'en without Bible in hand,
God exists, we understand.
But His Personality,
Scripturally's conveyed to me.
His Word helps me so to see,
God revealed Personally--
As that One who ne'er slumbers,
Giving Life to all numbers.
Having made for us this sphere,
So to live in flesh while here
Blessing us in many ways,
Seeking us unto His praise.
Creator and Sustainer,
He also is our Trainer
Guiding us through His Blest Word,
Where His Loving Voice is heard.
He is our Best and true Friend,
Lifting us from our own sin
Having sacrificed His Son,
For the sins of everyone.
All who truly seek can find,
In Him, a God so sublime
Tho' far above, yet so near,
To help those that in Him fear.
Faith removes not affliction,
Nor 'tis this a contradiction
So 'tis this God I savor
Seeking His Help and Favor.
God is Love, is Light, is All,
Just, and yet so Merciful
Condescending to mankind,
Greatest Friend we'll ever find!
But in Justice, shows His Wrath,
To those on the wayward path
Who seek not His fellowship,
Thus unreleased from sin's grip.
This God's Real as real can be,
God of all Eternity!
By trusting Faith, we believe,
Which by His Word, is conceived.
Go Friend, try and prove this wrong,
Though you try, both hard and long
An honest search will thus lead,
In such a God, to believe.
So without apology,
I so share that God with thee.
May your faith in Him so grow,
That you too, this God will know.
That God is my Friend Divine,
In Whose Image I'm designed
Who supplies my every need,
As His Will in Life I heed.
By His Son I am redeemed,
(From the evil, sin has schemed)
To walk by Faith, not by sight,
So to dwell in Him, the Light.
Ever with me, by His side,
My cares in Him, I confide.
Through Life's darkest valleys trod,
I am blessed by such a God!
