The Night the Horses Cried

One night of attrition filled with pride
Man lost the will to mourn
                  so the horses cried
They saw merciless killings and vicious acts
as the brute beasts rode on their backs
They had strong wills on strong rides
with deadly skills and blind pride
Ride! Ride! I said Ride
   Death has no tears
    it picks no side
Though the land was lain with a thousand slain
         their fierce determination remained
                             the same
They rushed upon one another without fear
        There goes a severed arm
                here comes a spear
One night of attrition filled with pride
A hundred men lived...a thousand ones died
