Reflections of Richard
I ran off all acquaintances
--The pain too hard to bare--
The longing nights and loneliness
Only added to despair.
There's not too many people
Who'd stay there in that room;
But I guess you knew--
Cuz you felt it too,
When you lived on through that gloom.
When I'm down in that valley,
I'll be climbing up your hill,
Cuz I know when I reach Heaven
You'll be waiting for me still.
You are my friend.
We compared our operations,
--The times we almost died--
The jokes the doctors played on us,
Made us laugh until we cried.
There's not too many people
Who knows what we've gone through;
And I still don't know--
What it is to die,
But one day I'll be there too.
When I'm down in that valley,
I'll be climbing up your hill,
Cuz I know when I reach Heaven
You'll be waiting for me still.
You are my friend.
A friend in need is a friend indeed. ~English Proverb~
