Listen to me bleed for a minute, I won't be slow,
I'll simply open up my mouth to let the words flow,
flow like the blood of the disturbed man,
after he slit his wrist in the back of that van.
He was tired of the drama in the world today,
so death seemed to be the only way.
On my way to work I saw a boy crying,
crying about his Father said to be dying,
he suffered a massive tumor in his liver,
he drank enough alcohol to make you and I shiver.
So next time you go to the liquor store,
think about that lil boy standing at your door.
The world grows cold...listen to me bleed,
as I grow old...listen to me bleed,
so gather your gold...listen to me bleed,
and prepare to fold...listen to me bleed.
No one wins in this world but we remain consistent,
stacking our treasures and gathering resentments,
so much to do in so little time,
time...an infinite rhyme.
I think we should slow down, maybe take a break,
to gather our thoughts and see what's at stake.
The next time you are cashing your paycheck,
think about that guy you seen that looked like a wreck,
nothing to eat and no clothes to wear,
has no shower so the smell's hard to bear.
He looks for work but gets turned away,
only because a past mistake lies in the way.
It's a shame...listen to me bleed,
in this game...listen to me bleed,
to gather fame...listen to me bleed,
in spite of the lame...listen to me bleed.
