Heart Of The Matter
Lucid Dreaming
I had a lucid dream last night,
In very pleasant company,
I knew that I was dreaming,
For it made no sense to me,
I woke in early morning,
In happy reverie,
I wandered back to dreamland,
You were waiting there for me,
I turned around to look at you,
And rolled right out of bed,
I landed on my hands and knees,
Was it something that I said?
I remembered I'd been dreaming,
How it happened, no one knows,
But I'm looking at the evidence,
CARPET BURNS!
On knees and toes!

(Yes, this really happened! It's true, but then most of my craziest poems are! Spent the afternoon photographing a new born baby, which involves kneeling …and boy, does it hurt, Ouch!)
