Orphan Outing
The children have been cooped up
In the orphanage too long,
Trying to find the place
They know, where they belong.
The nuns take them outside
For an autumn stroll, they go,
The girls where their pretty dresses
The boy's ties wobble, to and fro.
The nuns let them play
Amongst the colored leaves,
The boys and girls laugh
Their hearts, filled with glee.
It's time to go now
To be cooped up between the walls,
The children say goodbye to the animals
Now, footsteps are only heard in the halls.
