Heart Of The Matter
In Forest, Wandering
Now and then I love to wander,
Through forest leafy green,
In stillness and in quiet now,
The hush of things unseen.
All quiet here in the forest,
Where time is standing still,
I open all my senses,
They cover me at will.
My eyes take in the majesty,
Of trees so tall and strong,
And as I look around me,
I'm aware, I don't belong.
I wander through the forest,
On velvet mossy lawn,
I'd love to stay till morning,
But soon I must be gone.
I hear the gentle trickle,
Of the water in the stream,
Providing backing vocals,
For the birdsong, it would seem.
I'm loath to leave my forest,
For I find my peace therein,
You'll find me here,
Another day,
In forest, wandering.
