True love is patient and kind.
It comes from the Spirit divine.
It is not based on feelings alone,
Nor can we produce it on our own.
It is not jealous of what others possess.
Not wanting more, but settling for less.
It is not boasting in any way or proud.
It has no desire to be noticed in a crowd.
It is never rude, but respects each other.
It lifts up a hurting friend or weary brother.
It does not seek in the pleasing of one self.
It willingly places others first before itself.
It is not easily angered, nor holding a grudge.
It graciously forgives, when others don't budge.
It does not keep track of wrongs or casting blame.
But accepts others for their faults just the same.
It does not delight in the practice of evil ways.
But it chooses to rejoice in the truth always.
It always protects, trusts, and hopes in all details.
It perseveres and we can be sure love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
