Heart Of The Matter
Rags
I've made a start,
A mammoth task,
I'm throwing out my gear,
I look,
Would I be seen in this?
There's no way,
No,
No fear.
I must admit,
I've found some stuff,
I've had for four decades,
I found three evening dresses,
And designer, vintage shades.
And Oh!
The hat!
I remember that,
Some weddings, it has seen,
I used to look, like Princess Di,
Now I look more,
Like the Queen!
And knee high boots, with platforms,
Silver stars, all round the sole,
A relic of the seventies,
Status Quo, and Rock and Roll.
A kaftan and some flip flops,
False flowers, for my hair,
Back to the hippy era,
When I used to look,
Like Cher.
A mini from the sixties,
I'm Twiggy,
Look, No fat,
It looks just like a pelmet,
Did I really look,
Like that?
But I've made a start,
With heavy heart,
I've put them in some bags,
And some I've labelled,
Charity,
The others,
Labelled Rags.
