 Winds of War

White caps top the ominous dark
blue waves, as they crash onto
the rocky shores of my mind.
Back, back they take me into
a war torn time.

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is forlorn
as the clouds of war deepen, and darken
with scorn.

Tranquillity is at an end, the winds
of war are slowly blowing again.
Death of  sons and daughters,
and a ocean of  mother's tears,
and the cost of those young lives
is the sum of all our fears.

War…how can we keep it at bay?
War is inevitable, so they say.
