Did not see first baby smile
`Nor your first toddling walk
Did not change your nappy
`Nor hear your baby talk

Was not there for starting school
`Nor watch you while at play
Was not there for your first kiss
But I am here today

Did not hear your broken heart
Cry out in its` first sorrow
Did not know I`d be a part
Of this your new tomorrow

I missed all of your childhood
And many things you`ve done
The past is gone and I have now
The future as your mum

But since the day I met you
I knew you as of old
Not part of my body
But part of my own soul

Happy birthday darling girl
Just follow every dream
Forget the past and start anew
With hope for everything

I will be here for you today
And all your lifetime through
Remember that I love you
In everything you do
