Now Em has a little problem;
With her little Christmas tree!
She wants to put a train line round it!!
Oh glory, glory be!
It's supposed to run around the tree,
But the tree is too damn small!
She needed to sort it out, and fast,
And make the tree more tall!
So she asked my Rich for help,
And said; ‘Rich I need a pole!'
So off he went to look for one,
Cos he's a wonderful soul!
So he brought Poco (Em) a pole,
And asked was that ok?
But she wasn't very impressed;
I think she was having a bad day!
So off he went again,
And brought her another pole or two,
Well by this time, I have to add,
Poor Rich was done worn through!!!
So he brought Poco another,
And asked was that one alright?
And of course, she said it wasn't,
He was there all flippin' night!
So he told her she had to go with him!
So he could get it right!
Cos one's too small, the other too wide,
The other was too tight!
Then he found one at last,
And Poco gleefully said it would do!
Yep, I have to say it;
My lovely Rich certainly did come through!
But she decided it was too tall again,
And told Rich it was last!!
So he said he had a headache!
And it was getting worse real fast!
So he took her off to the workie fella,
So he could cut one down!
Cos Poco said it wouldn't do,
And Rich wore a flippin' frown!'
He told her that this headache,
Was cos of all this bloody stress!
Poor lad's head was just about done in,
I really have to confess!
So the fella cut this one down to size;
But Poco said to Rich;
‘Nope, that won't do, it's too small again!'
Oh dear, another glitch!
So there it was at long last,
Em said this pole was great; just right!
And it's just as well, cos I have to add,
Poor Rich looked an awful sight!
Well by this time; oh dear me,
Poor Rich just wanted to go home!
Cos Poco; so named; Emma,
Wouldn't leave the poor lad alone!
So he told me the sorry tale,
All about the poles and Em the pain!
And said to me, that no way on earth,
Will he look for a pole again!
So he left her too it and went;
Cos she was as happy as a clown!
But there was Rich, all frazzled and frizzled!
And wearing a flippin' frown!
Meanwhile Em has the pole at last,
And this Christmas there it'll be;
Running round the living-room,
All around the damn Christmas tree!
