Creating Queer ChangeThis poem was created in a workshop for the Gay and Lesbian Task Force Creating Chane conference 2006 in Kansas City, MO. It is a Sonnet. Baby queers feel all alone As they struggle to put feelings to words They come to Creating Change and find a home And pick up their spiritual swords. Femme boys are made to feel vulnerable Because their ways don't fit the norm But with a body strong and a spirit humble They stead fastly weather the storm. Lipstick lesbians stuck in gender roles American culture has their traps But Queer is their heart and souls And no one can rewrite our gender maps. Life is a spritual ceremony We each have our own testimony.
