 The Mistress of Word Play

If I Could-I Would

If I could I would pluck the stars from the heavens and build a pathway from your heart to mine.

If I could I would pluck the stars from the heavens
and build a pathway from your heart to mine.
I would do these things so we might even in darkness
always have that connecting line.

Were it so simple to show my heart to you
I would stand before you stripped, yes bare
so you could see the depth of my feelings
all those things I long to share.

If I could I would stop time in her tracks
and make her wait endless hours
so you and I might spend extra moments
basking in the springtime's flowers.

Were it so simple to give these things
I would in a heart beat, give them to you
so you could understand the depth
and width of love as I do.
