Poetry For Everyday People

Sweet Days

Earth beneath
my feet, crying,
I no longer can
eat the shadows,
I see the moon
through cracks
penetrating chances,
forgiving walls,

time moving
all around me,
highlighting
my hair with gray,
wrinkles softly
kissing my eyes,
cut roses fade
as youth,

love's
as priceless
as mornings,

tonight my
hat's off time,
no grudge, no score,

you are
a beautiful ride.
