If I had a Ph.D
How would it be?
Would I be idolized?
Would my poetry be prized?
I ask if you would read
The poems I call "underground"
If you would fill a need
Of a poet wanting someone to hear his sound
Poets don't seem to be in demand
There's no class at BMCC for us
There's no job to land
There's no one who'll make a fuss
Slightly educated, slightly smart
Have all these tunes in my heart
Feel mostly ignorant with censorship
Can you tell me are my poems just a lot of useless lip?
