There lives a dragon inside of me endlessly struggling trying to break free.
There lives a dragon inside of me,
endlessly struggling trying to break free.
A beast ensnared behind bars of steal,
fighting my spirit wanting to be real.
My mind is caught in constant battle,
I hear the roars as its cage does rattle.
Yet I hold fast and do not give,
or allow the creature the chance to live.
Fear it holds the monster at bay,
and I hope to pierce its heart someday.
I know I can never allow it the victory,
and I must overcome the dragon in me.
