Into the darkness now I travel as the autumn leaves unravel and trail to the ground.
Into the darkness now I travel
as the autumn leaves unravel
and trail to the ground.
From here upon this desolate plain
I will dream of summer's kiss again
until the warmth once more is found.
Winters icy breathe ever forward advances
yet here I daydream of sweet romances
when youth was at my door.
Trapped within some receding past
trying to recapture and hold fast
the joy of life I felt before.
Pensively now only half awake
I watch as autumn does forsake
her task she did fulfill.
tenuously, cautiously the winter does proceed
as from her frigid cell she is once more freed
and she begins to work her will.
