Anointing Eyes
I set my eyes upon You, O Lord,
As I gaze upon Your Holy Word;
You have brought me to this place,
Shining Your ever loving grace.
For I am neither cold nor hot,
In not living as You have taught;
Only lukewarm to spue me out,
Of Your mouth because of doubt.
Because I am into material things,
And all that which money brings;
As temptations continuing to lure,
Making me feel wretched and poor,
I am blind to nakedness and shame,
Because my eyes in a lustful flame;
Causing burning desires of a need,
Continue with this shameful greed.
Anoint my eyes with Your salve,
To open my eyes with sight to have;
For seeing the error of my ways,
And follow Your path all my days.
