Poetry For Everyday People

Monday Afternoon

Spanish guitar hanging
on my wall, I just
restrung it, nylon strings
of course, played a flamenco
tune, I stare at it from
my couch as butterfly's
introduce themselves
to all the new flowers
I planted yesterday,

I adjust my thing hard in
my pants, Diana Krall singing
on digital TV a picture
of her in black men's
dress shirt, long legs,
bare feet, singing "Day
In, Day Out" teasing,

more butterfly's in the garden,
tomorrow we're gonna make
a little money, go out to
dinner, fly life my friends,
don't stop feeling,

doesn't a turkey Swiss sandwich
on white bread with lettuce and
tomato sound yummy.
