God's Most Beautiful Angel-A Mother's Grief
New Face
New Face
The demo men came and pulled out the old.
Now the builders can begin to renew.
Preparing a new face one younger and bold.
There will be no more gray…they haven’t a clue.
They don’t know our reasoning for the big change.
Can’t unlock our hearts and see the black bruise.
They do what their told with hammering bangs.
To them this is nothing…not headline news.
It’s only a job to complete and transform.
A face lift of drywall, cabinets and tile.
To us the cold might once again become warm.
Perhaps this will comfort us allow us to smile.
The new face this house gets…your house…gets won’t change our memories of you.
But maybe it will ease the pain of our loss.
We’re throwing out the old…the tattered…the blue.
Helping ourselves…hoping…to build a new life in the gloss.
