God's Most Beautiful Angel-A Mother's Grief

Running On Empty

Running On Empty

What will I do as the days fly past?
Time is going by way too fast.
I’ve been unable to fill your space.
My heart still has this empty place.
I walk within the hours I spent with you.
Twenty years where far too few.
At night I lay awake and think.
My eyes won’t close…my brain won’t blink
Thoughts run through my mind in torrid streams.
Depriving me of peaceful dreams.
The echo of the flood fills my ears.
My face is etched from all my tears.
Shall I go on with life…such as it is?
How do I fill this empty place?
