Deer alerts I forgot to buy
It was deer season, keeping a sharp eye
All of sudden someone yelled deer
Out of my right peripheral, I saw a blur
Hit the brakes, skidded in the mud
And then I heard a resounding thud,
Must have been a 10 point buck
Left a big dent in my new truck
But off in the distance it ran with such grace
And soon vanished off into space
It was a bright sunny day
We turned around not far away
A tiny fawn, a nap it was taking
A cute picture in the making
Camera in hand walked close
It opened its eyes it was going to pose
About me it didn't seem to care a lot
So I clicked shot after shot
Moved back and watched from a distance
It finally got up at its mom's insistence
