Flowers From A Stranger
I had some flowers from a stranger,
A man, who thought he, knew me well,
In truth, I just didn't know him,
How to find him? I just couldn't tell,
This man sent a note with the flowers,
An apology for his misdeeds,
“Forgive me”, he said, “I still love you,
You're more than enough for my needs”,
I read the note with some interest,
And I wracked my brains for a clue,
The name, it said John, but no number,
So there wasn't much else I could do,
So I found a nice vase, put the flowers in,
Arranged them so artistically,
I had some flowers from a stranger,
But it's sad, they were not meant for me.
